Fridge Photos #4

From Green and his lovely bride who have been displaced from their apartment.
I just want to give the little guy a hug, don’t you?

Excerpts from the Election

More Fridge Photo’s coming after this, but I think this is important, so I wanted to get it out. I e-mailed some of the people I am proud to call my friends. I asked them, in 20 words or less, Now that the election is over, how do you feel? I know supporters of both candidates so I didn’t want a biased answer, e.g. Now that Obama has won…..Now that Palin has been sent packing. I just wanted to know, now that the process has ended and a winner declared (no matter who that winner is)…how you doin’?

The responses thus far….(nicknames used, some for the first time).

“Accomplished, proud, hopeful. I’m proud of our nation and I’m ready. We can, and we DID!!!” - my Marine wife niece.

“Relief! Now people can start focusing on REAL issues…” - BF

“Hopeful but wary of the Republicans (read: Norm Coleman) - Son of a Preacher Man

“The first thing that happened to me today was getting a $45 parking ticket in LA because I didn’t put the nickel that was jingling in my pocket into the meter outside Starbuck’s. So, I began the Obama era by shaking my fist at the heavens.” - The Ex-English Teacher

“I was disappointed at first. But after listening to Macain’s speech. We all live in America and deserve a chance.” - Jonesie (And here is where I’m tasting blood biting my tongue about a McCain supporter getting their own candidate’s name wrong.)

“I felt so goooood when I scribbled in my circle yesterday. It feels great to support a winner–something I haven’t done in any elections past. Very optimistic.” - The Alaskan Poet

“Proud to be an American. Hope is more powerful than fear. This country can be what we wish it were……For the first time in my life, I feel that my country belongs to me, and me to it.” - The Voodoo Queen

“Relieved, joyful, hopeful, moved re: Obama; sick, sad, angry re: Prop 8 and like; disappointed, irritated re: Al Franken, Bachmann.” - Earth Mama

“Happy and Hopeful for the election results…a little sad (but not broken) about Prop 8 passing. But the world is on the road to healing…yes we did!” - Colby

“Relieved” - Princess K of the Milky Way

“I am just glad Palin isn’t in the White House. That is my biggest relief. I’m cautiously optimistic.” - Photo Mom

“Ecstatic, relieved, inspired, vindicated, hungover.” - Rocker Dad

“Fan-fucking-tastic!” - Green

I put these up….I asked the question….there is a point I’m trying to make.

Yes We Can is now the battle cry for a generation, born from a suffragette tune and one man having a dream as its refrain. We have our country back. We’ve crossed the color line. Proud to be an American is wider spread now as an ideal- not just reserved for shitkicking country bucket rednecks and song titles. We now know the power we have as a people when we stand together and say to our own government ENOUGH!

November 5, 2008 a day of healing and a day of hope.

One A Day…

NaBloPoMo - I’m doing it in November. Can I get a hell yeah? It’s going to get really challenging around Thanksgiving since we are going to AZ and the “little house that could” doesn’t have internet. Yikes! We’ll see how it goes.

I’m still hoping you’ll send me picture of the outside of your fridge - mydarlingcurse@gmail.com.

Here is another one from the loverly SIL! Keep ‘em coming!

The Top Half
Top Half

I’ll show you the bottom half after some reciprocity.

Photo Project

I’m actually stealing this idea from a dude at ECFE, but it’s so awesome I don’t feel too guilty.

Please send a photo of your refrigerator AS IS to mydarlingcurse@gmail.com.

I want all the pictures and coupons and postcards and magnets - I want it all!

question…

how can you miss someone that you haven’t even talked to for like ten years and then you reconnect and only share like six e-mails with?

strange turn of events, but i totally miss The Brit. think he’s vacationing in Scotland. that’s so nice to say. i wish it applied to me.

i guess i’ll just cling longingly to my e-mails from Barak Obama and Al Franken.

the RNC: a list

things….that…uhm….not so much…

a.) cindy mccain’s $300K outfit the first night. she reminded me of ivana trump, except cinds has more money.

b.) sarah palin - fuck her and her hockey mom bullshit

c.) huckabee and guiliani - thanks for the fear mongering guys!

d.) the WTC montage video - i didn’t watch this myself, but the fabulous Mr. O’s reaction was 100% right. i guess the GOP has to justify the war some how.

on the plus side

watching the coverage last night with JCSG was awesome. reading the FakeSarahPalin’s tweets on Twitter was hy-larious, and then making it home to see Triumph the Insult Comic Dog on Conan - best line ever…”she [Palin] will be a great-grandmother in 12 years.” it’s funny cuz it’s true!
