Rock Angel

I think I’ve mentioned more than once that my big brother Randy was a huge Badfinger fan. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Joey Molland several times. The last time I saw Joey and his wife Kathie was actually at Randy’s funeral. Joey was kind enough to say a few words. I don’t brag about having a rock legend speak at my brother’s funeral, but it was really cool. Joey is just really sweet guy.

I learned today that Kathie Molland died Tuesday night in her sleep. I had only met Kathie a handful of times, but every time our paths crossed she cracked me with some ubergroupie rock story; “You know, I really really really loved Jimmy Page. I did. If only he’d have kept the fourteen year old girls off his lap, I think we could have had something.” Only a true groupie tells stories like that. I thought she was simply amazing.

My heart goes out to Joey, to their family. I hope I can send him something. I feel like I owe him.

Where I find love…

Here are somethings working my shit at the moment…

- sunshine
- mini cupcakes
- Danny Masterson on Twitter
- “Let The Right One In”
- The Buns and all his sweet babble
- Boo in pigtails with green ribbons
- look through pictures from our/my trip(s) to Ireland

Looming

I have several things looming over my head at the moment. At the forefront are these felony charges. More on that later. No one has been sentenced yet, we don’t even know when sentencing is. But with the convicted being a single parent I am greatly concerned that my little family of four will become a family of six (with teenagers!). Another thing is finishing writing about The Worst Trip to Iowa EVA! I’ve been writing about it, but haven’t had time to proofread or edit. The Frenchie stuff is now taking up more of my time too. Fundraising is exhausting. And I’m working on two cookbooks, one for my family and one for the school. And I want to write a review of the very sweet Wesley the Owl.

Most importantly, I’m not feeling well. Some of it is left over from the surgery, but my sinuses are kicking back in and it’s almost impossible to get up in the morning. My head feels like it’s full of stale oatmeal.

Felonious Funk

Joking about having a convicted felon in the family = Ok. Actually having a convicted felon in the family = heartbreakingly weird.
